Impact of very massive stars on the chemical evolution of extremely metal-poor galaxies

Context. In recent observations of extremely metal-poor, low-mass, starburst galaxies, almost solar Fe/O ratios are reported, despite N/O consistent with the low metallicity. Aims. We aim to investigate if peculiar can be a distinctive signature an early enrichment produced by very massive objects dying as pair-instability supernova (PISN). Methods. ran chemical evolution models yields that account for contribution PISN. used both non-rotating stellar from study and new rotating stars calculated specifically this work. also searched best initial mass function (IMF) is able reproduce observations. Results. adopting bi-modal IMF including burst stars. Only we at estimated young ages. confirm rotation absolutely needed concomitantly observed ratios. Conclusions. These results stress importance in galactic studies strongly support top-heavy evolutionary stages metal-poor galaxies.
